What energy can I use in my campervan?
Sussex Campervans have featured our SX Upgrade since late 2017. This brings the very latest technology for battery charging, LPG gas storage and campervan heating, including multi-mode charging and safe, underfloor-mounted gas storage to the Sussex Campervans range.
All our new campervans come with our SX system – and the underslung, refillable, LPG tank has the added bonus of an external BBQ point. The LPG tank powers the under-body heater and twin-burner hob. Plus there’s a user-friendly SX control panel so you can switch the LED lights on and off individually and turn the gas supply, fridge and heater on and off. Refillable gas tanks are so popular now, and we are proud to say that we spotted the need before most of our rival van converters in the UK. We designed our own control panel, too, and it has a gauge that clearly tells you when you need to top up the LPG tank with Autogas, while another gauge allows you to check the remaining charge in the vehicle and leisure batteries. There are even twin USB ports, a 12V socket and circuit-breakers on the panel – it’s all so accessible and easy to use.
Autogas pumps are available at main A-road petrol stations and motorway services in the UK (Click here for map of UK LPG stations). Abroad you'll find more than 45,000 Autogas pumps in Europe and in France it's called GPL.
There's now the option of adding solar panels to the roof, to top up your leisure battery - ideal for those who love to go wild camping or festival camping, off-grid. If you already own a Sussex Campervan without a solar panel, we are happy to retrofit this item to your campervan. Just contact our Aftercare team at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your needs.
