Plenty of people decide that a large coachbuilt motorhome is too big for touring the most scenic parts of the UK. What they really need is to buy a small campervan that they can drive almost anywhere. But it must be as comfortable as possible inside, secure, potentially dog friendly and be easy to drive and park.

Small Camper Vans

Small campervans like the Volkswagen T6-based Caledonia, or the Renault Trafic-based Manhattan and Paradise ranges are versatile. The short wheel-base versions will comfortably sleep four, while the long wheel base versions can sleep five. The classic campervan layout has a side kitchen and a rock and roll bed in the rear – and we’ve reinvented the rock and roll bed to make it much easier to convert from a travel seat into a double bed for the night. The other type of small campervan layout on offer is the rear-kitchen layout in our Paradise range. In this case you get a full-van-width double bed or twin singles – the choice is yours. All Sussex Campervans come with space for a Porta Potti-style toilet (optional) concealed in a convenient cupboard – except the Paradise Deluxe, which comes with a motorhome-style flushing cassette toilet.

Many people who buy small campervans add an inflatable driveaway awning, or a cassette awning, to extend their living space when they’re on a campsite. It makes the perfect lounge or spare bedroom when friends come to visit, too.

Micro Camper Vans

For those who wish to have a micro-camper, the smallest of our small campervans is the NV200 CamperCar. Many owners use this as their only vehicle, since it’s possible to drive it into multi-storey car parks and under height barriers. It’s economical on fuel and comes either with a double rock and roll bed in the rear, or a single bed for those who need more floor space in their campervan at night.
